Buying a 1957 Jaguar XK150

1957 Jaguar XK150The XK150 Jaguar was the last model in the XK Line, which replaced the widely popular XK140 models. Produced from 1957 to 1961, the Jaguar XK150 showed a family resemblance to the XK140, but was updated considerably to offer more to owners. The 1957 Jaguar XK150 offered a one-piece windscreen, which was updated from the split screen of the XK140, and the wing line for which the car had become famous no longer plunged so deeply at the doors. Enthusiasts also appreciated a widened and elongated bonnet, which was achieved by moving the bulkhead back several inches. What most buyers dont realize is that the first XK150’s were actually slower than their predecessors. Corrected in the spring of 1958, however, the XK150 received a 3.4-litre S engine that would give the Jaguar the speed it needed.
