Buying a 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider

1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 SpiderAfter concentrating heavily on production and marketing of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Giulia series cars, in 1962 Alfa Romeo would turn its focus to the launch of the Alfa Romeo 2600. Essentially giving its senior Alfa Romeo 200 line a new six-cylinder engine, the Alfa Romeo would be nearly identical to the 2000 series with a few minor trim changes. The factory-built Berlina Sedan, Sprint Coupe with body by Bertone, and Touring Spider would later be joined by a unique and striking Zagato-designed Coupe with a protruding, rounded nose. The 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider Convertible is an excellent option for classic car investors or Alfa Romeo enthusiasts looking to enjoy the punchy engine and superior power-to-weight ratio of these classic Alfa models. During their era, however, the 2600 series saw much competition from its Alfa Romeo Giulietta counterpart, which was about half the cost and (many believed) twice as much fun to drive. Of note are the four-wheel disc brakes that were added to both the Alfa Romeo 2600 and Giulia models at the time.
