Following the Ferrari Coupe GTC, the Ferrari 330 GTS Spider was introduced in 1966. Approximately 100 Spiders were built before the production was disrupted in 1968, in favor of the Daytona. The successor to the comfortable but less sporty Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, the Ferrari 330 GTS was intended to be a luxurious Grand Tourer with great on-road performance. The car was fitted with an upgraded and revised version of the 4-Liter V12 previously used on the Ferrari 400 Superamerica. Many improvements were made, such as the introduction of a torque tube to reduce the vibration, new Koni adjustable shock absorbers and a Dunlop dual circuit braking system with discs brakes all around. The engineers succeeded in creating a smooth, flexible, easy, and comfortable car, while conserving the much-loved noise and performance of the V12 engine.
