Selling or Buying a 1968 De Tomaso Mangusta?

1968 De Tomaso MangustaThe De Tomaso Mangusta succeeded to the Vallelunga model and is the second road-going sport car built by the Italian car manufacturer. The chassis of the Mangusta was based on its predecessor and the engine was mid-mounted. The first examples of De Tomaso Mangusta were fitted with a Ford 289 V8 engine producing 306 hp, while the US models were powered by a 221-hp Ford 302 V8 unit, linked to a 5-speed ZF transaxle. The body was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro with design cues including gullwing doors over the engine and luggage compartment. The model was well equipped and ahead of other manufacturers of the time with all-around disk brakes, four independent suspension, rack and pinion steering, power windows, and air conditioning. With a top speed recorded at 155 mph, the De Tomaso Mangusta was a very fun and inexpensive sports car.
