Selling or Buying a 1968 Ferrari 275?

1968 Ferrari 275The 1968 model-year was the last year of production for the great Ferrari 275, replaced by the Daytona (also called 365 GTB/4). Built by Scaglietti, the 275 GTB/4 (or 4-cam) was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 1966. The car was updated with revised bodywork and the wire wheels were no longer offered, for the first time in the history of Ferrari models. The Colombo V12 engine was substantially reworked, still featuring two valves per cylinder but with a four-cam engine instead of the previous two-cam unit, and six carburetors as standard. For a more compact head, the valve angle was reduced by three degrees, differing significantly from Ferraris previous designs. The 1968 Ferrari 275 also boasted a redesigned transaxle, with a new torque tube now connecting the engine and transmission. The shifting and reliability of the 275 GTB/4 was improved with the addition of advanced synchronizers. The Ferrari 275 could be ordered with an increased horsepower, from 260 (Convertible) or 280 (Coupe) to 300hp, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 165 mph quite impressive for the era.
