The 1970 Porsche 911 T was now rated at 125ph, the 911E at 155hp, and the 911S at 180hp. During this time, removing a number of amenities and using lightweight materials where possible also created a performance version of the 911S. For example, aluminum was used on the bumper and engine-lid, the interior received lighter-weight seats, and the door handles were replaced with chords. What resulted was a 1,840-pound, street-legal racecar. The 1970 Porsche 911 was now on par with the Jaguar E-Type and the Chevy Corvette, although often-considered better built.
