Selling or Buying a 1972 Maserati Merak?

Produced from 1972 to 1983, the Maserati Merak was essentially the V6-engined version of the V8 Maserati Bora, with a more convenient 2+2 layout permitted by the space gained from fitting a smaller engine. With a capacity of three liters, the V6 could produce an output of 190 hp at 6,000 rpm and reach a top speed of 150 mph. Designed by Giugiaro at Italdesign, the Maserati Merak shares many cues with its sister GT, the Bora. One of the main distinguishable features was the dual chrome bumper in the front, and the absence of glassed fastback, replaced by a vertical rear window. The interior of the early models was identifiable by its one-spoke steering wheel, brushed metal dashboard and oval instrument gauges from the Citroen SM.
