Selling or Buying a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi?

1980 Ferrari 308 GTBiIn late 1980, Ferrari engineers made some changes to the Ferrari 308 GTB model, and created the 1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi. From the outside, the new model looks nearly identical to the first version of the Ferrari 308 GTB, the main difference being in the engine. Namely, Ferrari had to come up with a way to comply with the reinforcement of emission laws, and the Weber carburetors had to be replaced by a new Bosch fuel injection system, hence the i at the end of GTBi. Reducing gas emissions implied a decrease of power for the new model. The 1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi produced 214 hp for the European market models and 205 hp for the US market models, whereas the prior Ferrari 308 GTB offered 240hp for the US market, and 255 hp for the European market model. The only other noticeable difference between the two models was the size of the wheels. The Ferrari 308 GTB had 14-inch wheels, while the newer Ferrari 308 GTBi boasted bigger 16-inch wheels. Inside was nothing short of what you’d expect from Ferrari, with high quality materials and close attention to detail.
