The Lamborghini Diablo was initially planned to replace the Lamborghini Countach in 1988 as the 25th anniversary model. However, because the Diablo wasn’t ready in time, Lamborghini came up with a perfected version of the successful Countach. The Countach 25th Anniversario was made in 667 units before the long-awaited Diablo took over in 1990. Based on the quattrovalvole chassis, the body was reworked, introducing a new front spoiler, extra cooling vents for the front brakes, and redesigned rear wing scoops. New Pirelli P Zero tires replaced the aging P7 and were mounted on multi-piece OZ wheels. The interior was also redone with wider seats featuring electrical adjustments, powered windows, and standard air conditioning. This last iteration of the Countach was a much more drivable vehicle, while still providing impressive performance.
