Buy or Sell Your Aston Martin DB5?

Aston Martin DB5The Aston Martin DB5 is a great car to own in any current condition. Often considered the most famous car in the world, thanks to its role as James Bond’s gadget-filled sports car in Goldfinger. Today, the DB5 is also highly regarded as one of the most beautiful Aston Martin ever produced. While it shares many traits with the DB4 it replaced, the most significant changes to the car would come under the hood. Released in 1963, the DB5 offered a 4.0L engine with three SU carburetors, as was fitted to the outgoing DB4 Vantage edition. The cars would also share fared in headlamps, yet the DB5 would boast the introduction of a full synchromesh five-speed gearbox. Other chassis changes included the adoption of Girling disc brakes, which had only been used on the DB4 GT, and 15inch wheels. Electric windows and twin hydraulic brake servos would also be offered. Throughout production, a DB5 Vantage was also offered and featured three Weber carburetors and different camshafts to achieve a higher level of performance, as well as a Convertible option that was available with an optional steel hard top. Today, the Vantage edition is highly regarded among collectors, as just 65 cars of a total production run of 898 coupes were fitted with this advanced engine and were capable of 314hp. On the other hand, approximately 123 of the Convertibles were manufactured.
