Selling or Buying a Ferrari 275?

Ferrari 275Produced between 1964 and 1968, the Ferrari 275 is a 2-seater front-engine automobile designed by Pininfarina. It was the successor to the Ferrari 250 and was replaced by the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona after its production run ended. The body of the Ferrari 275 was a very graceful and refined evolution in the Ferrari line, and also strongly contrasted with the Daytona. The Grand Turismo 275 boasts a 3.3-Liter Colombo 60 V12 engine producing 280 to 300 horsepower. The Ferrari 275 was the first Ferrari car with a transaxle component, combining transmission and rear axle. The first models were the 275 GTB Coupe and the 275 GTS Convertible (which featured a completely different body than the Coupe). While the GTBs delivered an average of 280hp and the Convertibles an average of 260hp, a six-carburetor 300hp tune was available for both cars.

Ferrari 275 Buyers Guide

In 1966, the body style was slightly changed, with a noticeable redesigned front grille for the GTB. A few long nose GTBs were produced before two extra cams were added to the first version of the GTB, which became the Ferrari 275 GTB/4. In base trim, the new spec V12 delivered 300hp. Some vehicles featured Borrani wire wheels and aluminum bodywork. Ferrari also built two special versions of the 275. The first one was the Ferrari 275 GTB/C, a competition version of the Coupe model; only 11 examples were made. Those rare examples all featured dry sumps, a strengthened chassis, a higher state of tune, and aluminum bodywork. The second version was the very special 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder. Commissioned by Luigi Chinetti, Jr., only 9 NART Spyders were made. The difference with the original Ferrari 275 GTS is that the 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder came with the four-cam motor and coachwork and lines of the 275 GTB/4 Coupe. Although all Ferrari 275 models are highly prized, the NART Spyders always get most of the attention when they appear at auction.
