Buying A Porsche 356 B

Porsche 356 BIntroduced in 1959, the Porsche 356 B was the successor to the widely popular 356 A models. Proving the 356 sill had a lot of life left in it, Porsche rolled out the 356 B in time for the Frankfurt Show in late 1959. The exterior changes to get from the Porsche 356 A to B were hardly radical – more upright headlights, raised bumpers, and a larger luggage compartment handle. The nimble and compact 356 already possessed all the right attributes, wining the positive reviews of critics, the money of enthusiasts, and the checkered flags of many races. In fact, over its long production run, the Porsche 356 claimed class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and countless rallies. Model year 1960 however, is a milestone in the evolution of the 356, with the introduction of the T-5 bodied 356 B. The T-6 body type was then introduced in 1962. It is important to note that the A and B designations refer to the car type, while the T-5 and T-6 refer to the body type.
