Buying a 1951 Aston Martin DB2

1951 Aston Martin DB2The Aston Martin DB2 was the first successful post-war production car for the Aston Martin company. Marrying the engineering principles of both the Aston Martin and Lagonda companies, it would become the first David Brown Aston Martin and would set the tone for many more incredible Aston Martin cars. Often considered the best British sports car available in the early 1950’s, the 1951 Aston Martin DB2 was equipped with an impressive list of features. While many of the very first DB2 classics were prepared for the track, production versions would be very similar to the racing cars. At its release at the 1950 New York motor show, the DB2 was praised for offering all the performance of a Le Mans car with the comforts of a highway touring car. During its short production, a total of 339 Coupes and 102 Drophead Coupes were manufactured. In later years, Aston Martin would offer a Vantage version and a DB2/4, which was longer and more spacious with two rear seats.
