The chassis was a simple and light ladder tubular frame and suspension was independent all around. In 1956, an improved version of the AC Ace came out with a new Bristol engine, which gave the car 120 hp and a top speed of 116 mph. The 2-liter, straight-six unit with 3 downdraught carburetors was linked to a slick four-speed gearbox with optional overdrive, making the car smooth and efficient.
