Buying a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato

1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT ZagatoOne of the most cherished and sought-after British sports cars of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato represents an exciting time in Aston’s history. While the DB4 GT Zagato was not itself overly successful, it was primarily sold to private race teams thanks to its exceptional performance, aerodynamics and road handling. Its style and curvature would be the impetus for generations of Aston Martin models to follow. Based in Milan, Zagato was well known for building lightweight bodies and had established themselves by building aluminum bodies for Alfa Romeo and by outfitting many prewar Le Mans Winners. Zagato would take the standard DB 4 GT and transform it into a lighter, smaller sports car. Many steel components were changed to aluminum, and nearly all non-essential elements were removed including bumpers. With fewer than 20 models produced, only a handful of which were private individuals rather than race teams, the 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (and other model years) is quite rare today.
