Buying a 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT

1963 Aston Martin DB4 GTThe Aston Martin DB4 GT and the DB4 GT Zagato are two of the most valuable and collectable cars in Aston Martin’s history; they remain popular with enthusiasts and collectors today. In total, just under 100 examples of these two classics were ever built. The 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato represents the final year of production. The DB4 GT Zagato would go on to play a crucial role in defining some of the most legendary design cues still used by the automaker today. While the original DB4 GT would be unveiled at the London Motor Show in 1959, the DB4 GT Zagato would release in late 1960 with a streamlined body that featured new curvature by the world-renowned Italian coachbuilder Zagato. Only 19 examples were produced. Quite raw, many of the car’s steel components were changed to aluminum to save weight, while nearly all non-essential elements were deleted including the bumpers. In total, more than 100 pounds would be saved in weight. Today, the 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato represents some of the finest engineering and design to come from the partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato.
