Introduced at the 1968 Paris Auto Show, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was the fastest and the most expensive road-going Ferrari built during its era. After its memorable 1-2-3 finish at the 1968 Daytona 24 Hours, the enthralled media nicknamed the car the Ferrari Daytona, and everybody stuck with it. The Ferrari Daytona was a phenomenal vehicle in terms of performance and its edgy designed supported the extravagant engineering. A fine example of the collaboration between Ferrari and designer Pininfarina, the Daytona featured sharp lines and a new look that put the car more in line with Lamborghini designs of the time. The 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ditched the fixed headlights covered by an acrylic glass cover, which were featured in the earlier Daytona cars, in favor of retractable pop-up twin headlights. Powered by a 4.4-L DOHC V12 engine, which had a maximum power rating of 352 hp at 7,600 rpm, the car would accelerate effortlessly from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and cruise up to a speed of 180 mph.
