Buying an Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider

Alfa Romeo 2600 SpiderThe Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider is one of several distinct body styles available under the Alfa Romeo 2600 range. First launched in 1962 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo 2600 was available as a Berlina sedan, a Sprint coupe, and an open-top Spider. Several special-designed bodies were also available including the Berlina De Luxe and Sprint Zagato. Designed and built by Touring of Milan, the 2600 Spider had a family resemblance to its smaller stable-mate, the Giulietta Spider. Although it lacked the smaller cars grace and balance, the Spider was a four-seat convertible that offered an exciting and pleasurable driving experience. Fitted with a new six-cylinder 2.5L engine and three carburetors, the Sprint offered more than 145hp. In total, the Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider would see approximately 2,255 units produced through 1969.

Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider Buyers Guide

Today, the classic Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider and Sprint are well loved by enthusiasts for their tasteful and opulent styling both externally and internally. Rather rare compared to the more successful Alfa Romeo models of the same era, Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider owners must dedicate a lot of effort and resources to restoring and maintaining their classic since parts can be difficult and expensive to find. While very few of the 2600 Berlina sedans found dedicated owners throughout their lives, the Spider and Sprint models, as well as the special De Luxe and 2600 SZ, are typically found in fair to excellent condition. Of course, with little more than 2,255 models produced, finding an Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider can be just as difficult as maintaining one. Luckily, The Beverly Hills Car Club has the knowledge, resources and industry connections needed to assist you in finding the classic Alfa you desire. From barn finds in need of complete restoration and care to pristine examples that have been lovingly restored from top-to-bottom, their team of California classic car dealership professionals look forward to assisting you.
