By this point in the New Class saga, the comparatively underpowered 1500 was but a distant memory. The 1800 series had given drivers and car critics a taste of what BMWs M10 could do, and nothing less would be acceptable moving forward. Having effectively burned their ships, so to speak, the design and engineering geniuses behind BMWs 1960s resurgence now embraced their role as innovators and standard bearers within the sports sedan marketplace. No car was quite so emblematic of that standard as the 1969 BMW 2000 Sedan. And buyers today are welcome to a piece of that seminal moment in car history, particularly given the sheer volume of units produced under that make/model nomenclature.
