Built from 1936 to 1940, the SS Jaguar 100 was a saloon, two-seat sports car from SS Cars Ltd. The company was renamed Jaguar in 1945 to avoid a connotation with the Nazi. A 2.5-liter engine powered the SS Jaguar 100 with twin carburetors bolted directly to the cylinder head and an output between 70 and 100 hp. The unit was enlarged to a capacity of 3.5 liters in 1938 with a power increase to 125 hp. Power was transmitted to the wheels through a four-speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top 3 ratios. The car was very light and equipped with Girling brakes, which made it very enjoyable to drive and efficient.
