Buying a 1967 Alfa Romeo 2600

1967 Alfa Romeo 2600Manufactured between 1961 and 1968, the Alfa Romeo 2600 was an Italian luxury car available as a four-door Berlina Sedan, a two-door Spider Convertible, and a two-door Sprint Coupe. First unveiled at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show, the Berlina would be factory-designed and built, while the Spider would have a body by Carrozzeria Touring and the Sprint would boast a body by Bertone. While little more than 11,000 examples were made throughout production, the classic Alfa Romeo 2600 is today known for being the last Alfa Romeo to offer an inline six-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts. This had been the traditional configuration of Alfa Romeo engines since the 1920s, yet later Alfa models would give way to four-cylinder examples that were easier to send into mass-production after World War II. The 1967 Alfa Romeo 2600, like the other model-year examples, is an excellent entry into classic Alfa Romeo ownership. Buyers will also find several special edition examples to choose from during this model-year, including the Sprint Zagato, of which only 105 were built.
