The production of the Mk II model started in July 1969 and the car was unveiled in August of the same year. Featuring standard power steering and air conditioning on option, the 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II was a very luxurious car for the era. Using a longer wheelbase than on the DB5, the DB6 became a genuine 4-seater Grand Tourer. The beautiful Kamm-style anti-lift end improved the vehicle aerodynamics and high-speed stability, making it very enjoyable to drive. With a Tadek Marek designed, 4-Liter, 6 in-line-cylinder engine, the DB6 produces 282 hp at 5,500 rpm for the standard engine, and up to 325 hp with the Vantage option. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox, highly rated by enthusiasts.
