1964 Porsche 356C Coupe

Offered here is this 1964 Porsche 356C Coupe, a Karmann-bodied example finished in a matte black-gray exterior with a black interior. As the final generation of the 356, the 356C represents the last development of Porsche’s original production sports car before the introduction of the 911. This example retains the classic proportions, compact dimensions, and unmistakable styling that made the 356 one of Porsche’s defining early models. Note: Irish Green paint traces remain visible on the inner door jambs, hinge pillars, and underside of the engine lid.

Highlights:
- Exterior Color: Matte Black Grey
- Interior Color: Black
- 4-Speed Manual Transmission
- Flat-Four Engine
- Zenith Dual Carburetors
- Four-Wheel Disc Brakes
- Chrome Accents
- VDO Instrumentation
- 15-Inch Steel Wheels

Power comes from a flat-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, with Zenith dual carburetors providing the induction. The 356C was also notable for its four-wheel disc brakes, an important update over earlier 356 models and one of the features that helped distinguish the C-series from its predecessors.

The exterior combines its matte black-gray finish with chrome headlight rings, bumpers, trim, and hubcaps, giving the car a purposeful appearance while retaining many of its original-style details. It sits on 15-inch steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. Additional exterior details include the classic Porsche hood crest, chrome trim, and quad exhaust outlets.

Inside, the black cabin features bucket seats with headrests, VDO instrumentation, an analog clock, a three-spoke steering wheel, manual-crank windows, and courtesy lights. The straightforward cockpit reflects the 356’s sporting character, with the essential controls and gauges positioned within easy reach of the driver.

An interesting detail of the 356C is that four-wheel disc brakes became standard for the model, making it the first 356 series to feature disc brakes at all four corners. Along with other mechanical updates, this helped make the 356C the most developed version of Porsche’s original sports car.

This 1964 Porsche 356C Coupe is offered as a running and driving project, presenting an opportunity to take an increasingly sought-after classic Porsche and develop it according to your own vision. With its Karmann-built body, a flat-four engine, 4-speed manual transmission, Zenith carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and unmistakable 356 styling, it provides a solid opportunity for further work while retaining the character that makes the 356 so recognizable.
