Launched in 1927 alongside the smaller 3 Litre model, the Bentley 4.5 Litre was built until 1931 and was the brand’s second car. Based on a rolling chassis, the car was sent to various coachbuilders who made unique tourer and saloon bodies. An inline-four engine powered the model with a capacity of 4.4 liters. The unit was quite modern for the era, featuring two SU carburetors and dual ignition with Bosch magnetos. 110 hp were produced by the standard model and 130 hp for the racing car. A turbocharged version commonly named the Blower Bentley was also offered and made in 55 units. The Bentley 4.5 Litre set a speed record of 138 mph and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1928.
