The Bentley 8 Litre was a luxurious sports car made from 1930 to 1932 and based on the largest rolling chassis designed by Bentley at the time. Customers could order their Bentley 8 Litre in two different wheelbases: 144 or 156 inwith the exception of three models made on a 138 in wheelbase, and send their rolling chassis to coachbuilders of choice for a tailored body and interior. The model was powered by an SOHC, straight-six engine with four valves per cylinder and a capacity of 8 liters like the designation of the car indicates. The unit delivered 220 hp and the manufacturer claimed a top speed of 125 mph when the car was released. The transmission was composed of a manual 4-speed and reverse gearbox with a single dry-plate clutch.
