First introduced in 1946, the Bentley Mark VI was a four-door Standard Steel Sports Saloon that marked a radical change for Rolls-Royce. The model was the first to be offered with factory built coachwork and the body was made at Pressed Steel’s factory. A chrome strip appeared on the waistline on later models, as well as A-post fitted air intakes. A six-cylinder in-line F-head engine powered the Bentley Mark VI with a capacity of 4.6 liters, which gave the car satisfying performance. Power was transmitted to the wheels via a four-speed gearbox. From 1951, the Bentley Mark VI was available in left hand-drive, to better serve the international market. Chassis was equipped with independent front suspension and leaf springs in the rear and brakes were servo-assisted.
