In August of 1955, Mercedes Benz would replace the widely sought-after and ultra-luxurious 300S with the 300SC. Featuring a fuel injected inline-six engine that was able to deliver more than 173hp, the 300SC also featured a low-pivot independent suspension. Visually, the only difference between the old 300S and the new 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SC Coupe, Roadster and Cabriolet models was the pair of chrome strips on either side of the hood and the word einspritzmotor on the rear bumper. Additionally, if you were to look closely, the 300SC transmission cover is not removable and under the hood, on the side panels, the 300SC has horizontal chrome moldings. In total, only 98 Coupe models would be manufactured, as well as 53 Roadsters and only 49 Cabriolets. Unfortunately, not all 98 Coupe models remain in existence today, making them exceptionally rare and highly coveted.
