The Mk II would continue to use the 2.9L six-cylinder engine that was introduced in 1954, but buyers would also have the option of a Special Series engine that offered 165hp and a top speed of 120mph. Visually, although the Mk II and Mk I were quite similar, the Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk II would have a few significant detail changes. Quite a bit of chrome trim was added, as were tail fins and round taillights in the rear. In total, approximately 199 examples of the Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk II would be manufactured through 1957.
