The Lamborghini 400 GT was a 2+2 sports car launched in 1966 and produced until 1968. Its predecessor was the two-seater 350 GT that was built with a 4-liter engine towards the end of its production run, in only 23 units. Those were named 400 GT at the time and when the actual and new Lamborghini 400 GT model was introduced in 1966, it was referred to as the 400 GT 2+2. The 1968 Lamborghini 400 GT boasted completely revised bodywork from its predecessor, designed by Touring to accommodate 2-bucket seats in the back and using all different panels although both cars looked alike. The 1968 Lamborghini 400 GT can be recognized by its four headlights, scaled-back rear window, and higher roof line. The 4-liter V12 featured 6 Weber carburetors and produced a satisfying 320 hp to boost top speed to 160 mph.
