Buying a 1971 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II

1971 Aston Martin DB6 Mk IIAugust 1969 saw the introduction of the Aston Martin DB6 Mark II, in which the main distinguishable features were the flared wheel arches and DBS wire wheels. The Tadek Marek designed engine has 6 inline cylinders and a 4-Liter capacity. The power output on triple SU carburetors was 282 hp, rising to 325 hp in the Vantage specification. With its longer wheelbase and Kamm style tail end, the 1971 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II (and other model years) was a more spacious and comfortable vehicle than its predecessor. Also available in a Convertible version, called Volante, the DB6 was highly appreciated as a sports touring car, as well as a family car. 1971 Aston Martin DB6 Mk II Buyer’s Guide

1971 was the last year of production for the beloved Aston Martin DB6, soon replaced by the DBS. The Mk II featured advanced options, such as standard power-assisted steering and optional AE Brico electronic fuel injection. Its modern design and amazing performance made it a very attractive sports car at the time. Nowadays, the DB6 Mark II is one of the top classic cars on the market, as buyers and collectors of all types appreciate the car’s vibrant history. As all cars of this generation, the DB6 is prone to rust, especially where steel and aluminum connect on the body panels. If you’re ready to buy a specific example, make sure to inspect the car meticulously. The team at The Beverly Hills Car Club can help you with a pre-purchase inspection, which can be quite helpful in order to avoid bad surprises. Of course, this is just one of the many buyer’s tips that their team of experts would recommend.
