The 1978 Bentley Corniche was a premier luxury car that strongly resembled the Rolls Royce Corniche that was actually based off of the 1930s Bentley Mark V. The car boasted a flowing, rounded but sophisticated exterior. The two-door body style offered came in two varieties: the coupe and the convertible, otherwise known as fixed head or drophead. However, in the spring of 1977, some changes were proposed for the 1978 Bentley Corniche. The steering was changed to rack and pinion steering, alloy as well as rubber bumpers were made available, an aluminum radiator was added, an oil cooler, and a bi-level air conditioning system replaced the traditional one used previously. Lots of changes came to the car, but the engine remained a 6.75-liter V8 and the coil spring suspension system and ventilated disc brakes remained.
