First introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1981, the Lamborghini Jalpa was produced until 1988 with some revisions made along the way. In 1984, the Jalpa was presented at the Geneva Show again, featuring circular taillights and the black plastic body parts now finished in body color. This 2-seat targa-style sports car was Lamborghini’s most popular V8 to date, partly because it was officially certified for the American market and 416 units were made throughout the production run. The Bertone design features a smoother and softer line than the contemporary V12 models, but the body was still very much Lamborghini-like. The 3.5-liter V8 was capable of producing 255 hp at 7,000 rpm and the Jalpa could reach a top speed of 155 mph, going from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.
