1985 was the last year of production for the Lamborghini Countach LP 500 Salso known as LP 5000 S on the American market. This third generation of Countach was fitted with an enlarged 5-liter engine that made the model heavier but still way faster than its predecessors. Design-wise, the body remained the same Bertone-penned masterpiece with its angular lines and famous scissor doors. The main upgrades were the switch from Magnesium Campagnolo to OZ aluminum-alloy wheels. A V-shaped wing was made available as an option to increase high-speed stability and was ordered by most buyers although it reduced high-speed stability slightly. Thanks to its iconic design and unmatched performance, the Countach was Lamborghini’s biggest seller and the LP 5000 S was made in 323 units.
