The new car was introduced in 1985 and was available in a coupe (GTB) or targa (GTS) trim. Power came from a dual-overhead cam V8 engine offering an output of 260 hp. Main features included a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, disc brakes, and a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1988 Ferrari 328 GTB boasted the same engine as the Ferrari 308 with an increased displacement.
