Buying an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint

Alfa Romeo Giulia SprintIn 1962, the Alfa Romeo Giulia joined the Giulietta in, ultimately replacing it. The new Giulia would use a 1,600cc version of the all-alloy twin-cam engine in both single and dual carburetor tune, offering from 104 to 122 horsepower. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint, Spider, and Sprint Speciale bodies were carried over with minor exterior changes, while a new four-door Giulia in TI and Super versions would come along in 1963. At the same time, Bertones new notchback coupe, called the Giulia Sprint GT, would see production. Together, the Giulia and Giulietta ranges would catapult Alfa Romeo from a company that built approximately 12,000 cars during its first 42 years to almost 180,000 cars from 1954 to 1965. The overall design styling was quite straight forward, but with a great amount of detail. Interestingly, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint had a particularly low drag coefficient for that era, outranking even the Porsche 911 of the same period.
