Selling or Buying a De Tomaso Mangusta?

De Tomaso MangustaThe Mangusta was De Tomaso’s second road-going production model and the first to be built in significant numbers. The name Mangusta was attributed because of the arachnid mongoose, which was the predator of the cobra, and the Mangusta was intended to replace the Shelby Cobra. The De Tomaso Mangusta was powered by an American Ford V8 engine with a capacity of 4.7 liters. The beautiful body was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and made by Ghia, using steel and aluminum. About 400 examples of De Tomaso Mangusta were made during the production run, from 1966 to 1971, before it was replaced by the De Tomaso Pantera. The European spec cars delivered a power output of 306 hp while the North American models could only produce 221 hp. The engine was linked to a 5-speed ZF transaxle. With equipment such as four-wheel independent suspension system, rack and pinion steering, powered windows, and air conditioning, the De Tomaso Mangusta was a modern sports car.
