The Bentley 3.5 Litre made its debut in 1933 and was the first new Bentley model after Rolls Royce’s acquisition. The model was sold as a rolling chassis with the engine, gearbox, scuttle and radiator, and then sent to independent coachbuilders who worked with the customer to create a tailored body. The engine was a straight-six, 3.7-liter unit with two SU carburetors on a cross flow cylinder head. Power was transmitted to the wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox with synchro on the 3rd and 4th gears. The engine delivered roughly 110 hp and top speed was recorded around 90 mph. Leaf springs were fitted all around as well as servo-assisted mechanical brakes. Total production counted 1,177 vehicles, about half of which featured a Park Ward body style.
