Introduced in 1933 after Bentley’s acquisition by Rolls Royce, the Bentley 3.5 Litre model was sold as a bare rolling chassis until 1939. In total, 2,411 units were built and sent to the customers’ coachbuilders of choice. The model was also known as the Derby Bentley because it was produced in the Rolls-Royce factory located in the town of Derby, in England. A straight-six, 3.7-liter engine with two SU carburetors powered the Bentley 3.5 Litre, a sporty camshaft and a cross flow cylinder head. The unit delivered 110 hp and the car could reach a top speed of 90 mph according to the factory. The transmission was a four-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on the 3rd and 4th gears. Suspension was a 4-wheel leaf spring and brakes were servo-assisted all around.
