Produced from 1933 to 1939, the Bentley 3.5 Litre was sold as a rolling chassis and sent to independent coachbuilders to be fitted with a tailored body style, to the clients taste. The 1936 Bentley 3.5 Litre is part of the models known as the Derby Bentleys, as they were built in Derby, at the Rolls-Royce factory. Before Rolls Royce acquired Bentley due to financial difficulties, the cars were made in Cricklewood. The straight-six, 3.5-liter engine had a high-compression ratio, sporty camshaft and two SU carburetors on a cross flow cylinder head. The power output was estimated at 110, allowing for a top speed of 90 mph. As for most Rolls-Royce models, the 1936 Bentley 3.5 Litre was equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, servo-assisted mechanical brakes and four-wheel leaf spring suspension.
