Selling or Buying a 1937 Bentley 3.5 Litre?
Built from 1933 to 1939, the Bentley 3.5 Litre was known as a Derby Bentley because it was produced in the Rolls-Royce factory in Derby, England, following the acquisition of the manufacturer due to financial troubles. An inline-6, 3.7-liter engine, developed from the unit fitted on the Rolls-Royce 20/25, powered the car. With a higher compression ratio, sportier camshaft and two SU carburetors, the engine could deliver 110 hp, which allow for a top speed of 90 mph. Power was transmitted to the wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission with synchromesh on the 3rd and 4th gears. The 1937 Bentley 3.5 Litre was also fitted with 4-wheel leaf spring suspension and 4-wheel servo-assisted mechanical brakes. Park Ward bodied about half of the production.
