In 1972, Lamborghini introduced the third series of Espadaalso known as the Lamborghini Espada S3. Fitted with the 4-liter, V12 engine, the GT had a power output of 320 hp. The interior of the new generation was completely redesigned. A new aluminum-trimmed dashboard was fitted with easy access to all instruments, gauges, and controlsincluding the radio. Newly designed ones, based on five-stud hubs, replaced the knock-off wheels used on earlier models. The design also underwent a number of revisions; such as the switch from the hexagonal to a square mesh grille and new taillights borrowed from the Alfa Romeo 2000. The 1972 Lamborghini Espada featured all independent suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers, and four wheel disc brakes.
