The Jaguar Mark V was built from 1948 to 1951 and was launched at the 1948 London Motor Show alongside the Jaguar XK120. The model was quite popular and sold 5,000 units per year on average. The Jaguar Mark V retained the 1936 overhead-valve pushrod straight-six engines with 2.5 and 3.5-liter capacities. Respectively, the power output was 104 and 126 hp. A new chassis was introduced and the model used independent front suspension with double wishbone and a torsion bara combination used for many future Jaguar models. The body was all-pressed steel and the Mark V was equipped with hydraulic brakes. The design featured an upright chrome grille and the Jaguar radiator cap mascot was made available on option.
