Beverly Hills Car Club has recently acquired a truly unique piece of automotive history – a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL with an extraordinary story of survival. This classic German roadster was severely damaged during the devastating Pacific Palisades fires of early 2025, yet remains a testament to the enduring quality of these iconic vehicles.
The car was trapped inside a garage when flames engulfed the property of an older couple who weren’t home at the time. Despite their children’s desperate attempts to reach the property, emergency restrictions prevented access. The family lost nearly everything. In a remarkable twist of fate, when the owners were finally permitted to return to their property, they discovered the wife’s wedding ring in a box amid the rubble – a poignant symbol of resilience mirrored by this fire-damaged classic.
While significantly compromised by fire and heat, this 190SL presents a rare opportunity for a dedicated restoration. The car’s bones remain intact, showcasing the legendary engineering that made these vehicles so special. Contact us today to explore our inventory or discuss selling your classic car. (May 2025)
