The Sprint Speciale Story: The Bertone-designed Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale first appeared in the Alfa Romeo catalog in 1957. Boasting super-streamlined bodywork, it was highly praised as being visually sensational, bearing a resemblance to some of the most legendary Italian brands earlier competition designs such as the Disco Volante sports racer and the futuristic Berlina Aerodinamica Tecnica show car. Approximately 100 examples of the low-nose version were made in 1957 and 1958, and would be replaced by a second series. The second series of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale would see aluminum hood and trunk lids, and the elimination of the previously used aluminum doors and Plexiglas windows. The nose section was modified and the fender lines were raised slightly to conform to U.S. regulations. Bumpers were fitted front and rear, and the interior changed to become more comfortable. This new version was presented at the Geneva Motor Show of 1960. Mechanically, new Weber DCOE2 carburetors were fitted. This new version would remain greatly unchanged until production stopped in 1966.
A: Its rarity is a major factor. Beyond that, its breathtaking design by Franco Scaglione for Bertone is iconic, representing a high point in post-war Italian automotive styling. Its advanced aerodynamics were revolutionary for the era, and the lively twin-cam engine provides a quintessential Alfa Romeo driving experience. It’s a car that appeals deeply to collectors who appreciate beauty, performance, and historical significance.

“When in came time to selling my one-owner 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Commemorative Limited Edition Convertible, I contacted Alex Manos. I wanted the car to go to someone who would appreciate and take good care of it. Their team was knowledgeable and valued my classic car. They told me exactly what to expect in the sales process and everything went as expected. Once we agreed on a price, they wired the money to my bank account on the same day. Then made arrangements to pick up the car. Their customer service was exceptional. If you have a classic automobile that you are thinking of selling, I would highly recommend that you contact Alex Manos first. I know that I am was glad that I did.”
