The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 stands as Maranello’s most luxurious four-seat grand tourer of the late 1960s, earning its “Queen Mary” nickname through its commanding presence and sophisticated character. Produced from 1968 to 1971, this flagship model represents Ferrari’s pursuit of ultimate grand touring luxury, combining the powerful 4.4-liter Colombo V12 with self-leveling hydropneumatic rear suspension. Beverly Hills Car Club’s extensive experience with these distinguished automobiles has established us as the leading authority in their sale and acquisition.
The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1967 and stayed in production until 1971. This powerful Grand Tourer featured advanced engineering equipment, such as an independent rear suspension (seen for the first time on a 2+2 Ferrari), ventilated discs all around, and a torque tube system mounted within the transmission as with the Ferrari GTB4 and 330 GTC. Suspension provided excellent road holding, with a combined set of coil springs and shock absorbers provided by Koni. Both Ferrari and Koni partnered to develop a self-leveling system in the rear, which made the car extremely comfortable. The chassis used the same wheelbase as the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, but the 365 GT 2+2 featured a completely different body style, closer to the ones of the Superfast models rather than the previous 2+2 cars. The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 offers gorgeous lines and refined looks, which has made it a popular classic Ferrari with collectors of all types.
Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, the 4.4-Liter V12 engine developed 320hp for a top speed of 150 mph and a 0 to 60 mph performance of less than seven seconds. Thanks to the precision of the shifter and the responsiveness of the engine, the driving experience is highly enjoyable even by todays standards. The inside was refined, featuring a beautiful large wood dash with a binnacle full of gauges, comfortable seats, plush carpeting and a neat headliner. The gorgeous wooden steering wheel is inviting and complements the rest of the dashboard. Approximately 809 examples of the Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 were made, 50 of which with right-hand drive.
