Buying or Selling a 1926 Rolls Royce Phantom I

1925 Rolls Royce Phantom I In 1925, Rolls-Royce stepped into uncharted territory when they released the Phantom I. Little did the company know, the release of the Phantom would inspire more than 90 years of elegance and luxury under the same name. The 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I marked the first time that this classic car hit American shores. While the original Phantom was built in Derby, England, its American counterpart was made in Springfield, Massachusetts. Both cars were built with the same luxury and excellence that is associated with the previous Phantom, but there were some minor differences. For example, the American version had a three-speed manual transmission rather than the four-speed version that the British Phantom had. Additionally, the British long-wheelbase model of the Phantom I was 4″ longer than the American version, and some of the British Phantoms didn’t have a fuel gauge on the dashboard, while the American versions did. Still, both automobiles had the same powerful 7.7-liter, straight-six engine that put out a lot of power for the time.
